The sixteenth "FLTRP • Amazon Cup" National College English Debating Competition, sponsored by the Beijing Foreign Studies University, the Secretariat of All-China Students Federation, was held in Beijing from July.15th to 20th. Wei Zhenggang and Duan Beilei got the first prize under the guidance of the teacher Xuan Jing of our school. This is the best grades we get since we have ever got.
The competition used the British parliamentary debating competition system; more than 400 teams went through selection and trials around the campus and region; debaters from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and mainland China got the chance to compete in national finals on behalf of the 96 colleges and universities. The students from our university compete with debaters from BFS, Fudan University, Peking University, Tsinghua University, University of Hong Kong, and other well-known colleges. This is a good chance to show the English expression and critical thinking of the students and teaching achievements of our university.
