On the afternoon of March 31, 2023, the SFL convened the “First Argumentation Meeting for the 2023 National Social Science and Ministry of Education Project Applications (Linguistics and Literature)” in Room 510. This meeting featured 5 invited experts in the fields of linguistics and literature—Professor Feng Zongxin from Tsinghua University, Professor Li Guicang from Zhejiang Normal University, Professor Huo Shifu from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Professor Wang Shunyu from Xi'an International Studies University, and Professor Zhang Bisheng from Guizhou Normal University—providing guidance both on-site and online. Vice Dean of Research Su Rui, along with some teachers from our school, attended the meeting.
Under the guidance of Vice Dean Su Rui, 10 teachers who submitted project proposals sequentially presented the main content of their proposed topics. The 5 professors provided detailed evaluations on various aspects such as the project title, research dynamics, research value, research objects, framework, key difficulties, main objectives, research plans and feasibility, innovation, expected results, research foundation, and references, and provided many constructive and valuable suggestions.
The meeting lasted for nearly 5 hours. Vice Dean Su Rui concluded the meeting, expressed gratitude to the 5 professors for their participation and encouraged teachers to absorb feedback and patiently cultivate their ideas, aiming for substantial progress.
Conducting argumentation for the application of National Social Science and Ministry of Education humanities and social science projects is one of the important measures for the school to benchmark and promote discipline construction. By inviting external experts to the school to answer questions and provide guidance, it helps teachers solve research problems and achieve the organic integration of teacher growth and disciplinary development.
